So my 5 top
places in Spain are as follows:
1- La Alhambra, Granada: La Alhambra is a whole city within
the main city of Granada. It’s formed by a group of palaces, monuments and
beautiful gardens. Even though it
has roman origins, like many buildings and constructions in Spain, in the XI
century it became a Muslim fortress. Therefore is full of Arabic
decorations and Arabic style gardens made to perfection where you will enjoy
walking around with your family. Make sure to book in advance to avoid long
queues here:

2- La playa de las Catedrales, Galicia (Beach of the Cathedrals): This beach is located in Lugo, in the north-west of Spain. The main characteristic is that its cliffs have been shaped during centuries by the wind and the sea, totally natural, and has created incredible and original stone structures more than 32 metres high. It’s considered one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Don’t miss out the opportunity to visit.
3- Parc natural D’aigüestortes, Lleida: the Natural Park of Aigüestortes is very big,
so there are two main entrances to it. You can access by Boï Taull or you can
access from Espot, for me the best with young children, as it is easier to visit
the main attraction: the amazing lake “Estany de Sant Maurici”. You can take one
of the 4x4 special transports taxis up to the lake and walk from there, or what
we did was to drive to one of the main car parks and walk around the lake as we
were not going to do extreme hiking as we were travelling with a 3-month-old
baby and got the 4x4 back. The walk up is nice and easy.
4- Monasterio de Piedra, Zaragoza (Stone Monastery): About one hour and a half from
Zaragoza, you will find this fantastic place. Surrounding the actual monastery which is a piece of art just on
his own, you will find gardens and waterfalls formed by the river. It’s also
home to many animal species some of them endangered who found here a safe
place. You will need two or three hours to walk around the grounds.
5- Cabo de Gata, Almería: Cabo de Gata is the biggest seaside natural park of the Mediterranean
Sea. It’s a protected natural area because of its importance. The area has a
volcanic origin and is home to a wide range of wild birds. You will find some
of the most untouched and amazing beaches in the Mediterranean where you and
the family can enjoy kayaking, snorkelling and nice long walks by the seaside.
Well there
you have it, my top 5 places!! They can’t all be visited at the same time but
definitely should be on your holiday bucket list. Discover more details in
future posts.
Do you
agree with my top 5? Would you recommend
any other places?
