Menorca: 5 places to visit with your family

There is a little island in Spain which is ideal for families, it has beautiful beaches with white sand and turquoise water, nice food and a beautiful town centre, that place is Menorca. 

Menorca is the second biggest island in the Balearic archipelago and has nothing to envy to its bigger sister, the island of Mallorca. I like Menorca because you can drive from one side of the island to the other side in only 30 minutes so it’s easy to get to all different places. I recommend that you hire a car and explore the island. 

Even though the island is not too big there are loads of things to do and see, here I will tell you about my 5 favourite things when we visited Menorca:

If there’s a place where you can find good weather the whole year is Tenerife. We prefer to go there in the cold seasons so we can enjoy a bit of sun and beach for some time. Last year, we went to Tenerife with our little ones for a week, this is time enough to enjoy and see the entire island.

If you have been following our posts, you have probably seen different nice places that we have shown you for you and your family to visit and have a good time. This time, I’m going to show you, in my opinion, the 5 wonders of Spain.  Places that I feel everybody has to try and visit once, all very different between them but at the same time all as special as each other. You will decide depending on your preferences which ones you want to visit or not, but I recommend you plan some of your future holidays around these destinations so you can see a few of them, it’s worth it!

As you all know Ibiza is a Spanish island usually related to party and young people. We have discovered that it’s also a great destination for families with children.

Tossa de Mar: Medieval Beach Destination with Children

When you think about Spain I’m sure you can imagine beautiful beaches and the sun shining everywhere. Although it is not always like that, one of the areas we like the most referring to stunning beaches is the Costa Brava in the North-East of Spain. 

Tossa de Mar belongs to the Costa Brava and it’s a beautiful town surrounded by castle walls right by the sea. It’s about 90 km  from Barcelona, around one hour and 15 minutes drive, and you can get there by car or bus. Tossa is a great place to discover with kids as there are a lot of activities you can enjoy with them.

If you like medieval places, you’ll love Tossa de Mar. Its historical center is called Vila Vella (Old Town) and has the perfect atmosphere to walk through and feel like a night or princess in the old days. Moreover, it is full of handmade shops and good restaurants to taste the real Spanish cuisine.
