Ibiza: 5 Places You Must Visit with Children

Our holidays finished and everything got back to normal, children started school and we started working as well. However, we cannot forget our Summer holiday week in Ibiza. As you all know Ibiza is a Spanish island usually related to party and young people. We have discovered that it’s also a great destination for families with children

Here you’ll find the 5 must you cannot miss in Ibiza with children:

Ses Salines beach

1.- Discover the beautiful beaches around the island: Ibiza, being an island, has beautiful beaches all around it. Normally the water doesn’t go too deep initially so it’s perfect for children who can play safety at shore. If you have a baby and use a push chair, we recommend to check the beach services before going there. The ones that can be perfect with children (even with a push chair) and that we enjoyed are: Ses Salines, Cala Llenya or Platges del Comte.

2.- Get lost in Ibiza Town: Ibiza has many small towns in it, but also has the ‘capital’ which has the same name: Ibiza. The old town of Ibiza town center is called ‘Dalt Vila’ and has a beautiful medieval wall all around it. We recommend you going there in the afternoon and walk to the highest point to enjoy the sunset. After that, get lost around the streets, there are a lot of good shops and restaurants and the atmosphere is really friendly.

3.- Visit ‘les Dalies’ Market: Ibiza is full of great markets, and the most important one is the hippie market of ‘Les Dalies. It’s a market of handmade stalls where you can find the most beautiful hand-crafts of the island. There’s also a part of the market which is dedicated to children, with kids’ clothes and beautiful articles for them. Extra tip! We don’t recommend going there with a push chair as the place has the ground full of little stones that are really difficult to manage.

4.- Visit the cave of Can Marçà: in the north of the island we find the caves of Can Marçà. The visit takes about 40 minutes and it’s opened all days of the year. They do guided visits in different languages and there’s no need to book in advance. No push chairs allowed, so if you want to go with babies, bring your carrying bag and enjoy the natural environment. Its worth a visit!

Cala Saona, Formentera

5.- Spend a day in Formentera: A good option if you’re in Ibiza is spending a day in Formentera, a small island really nearby. You can get there by boat and it takes about 45min-1 hour long. Formentera has beautiful beaches with turquoise waters just like if you were in the Caribbean Sea. Don’t miss that, children will love the boat trip!
