It’s always much more difficult to organize a trip when you are travelling with children, especially if you are going abroad. I always end up taking much more stuff than I actually need or use at the end, but I tend to think that I need to take it just in case. Do you have the same problem?
Here I’m going to give you a list of the 5 things that from our point of view, you can`t forget when travelling with children:
1.- We do not go anywhere without that special comfort item. Liam has two teddy’s that he has to take everywhere, Paddy and Lula. My younger boy, Alex takes a blanket, and it always has to be that blue blanket that is never blue at the end of the holiday. Emma has a a teddy called doggy and Mateo has one called foxy (Emma and Mateo are Nieves' kids). It helps to make them feel more comfortable on the plane, sleeping in strange places or in a long car journey.
2.- The little medicine cabinet: I always take with me in a little bag: a thermometer, kids’ ibuprofen and paracetamol and some plasters. This is probably not possible you are travelling from outside the EU so I’m going to give you some information that may be helpful. If you can’t bring your own and you need to buy some for your children while you are in Spain you can buy ibuprofen directly from the pharmacy, it is called Dalsy and is very common, if you need to give them paracetamol the name is Apiretal.

5.- The entertainment bag. Whenever we go, I have to prepare a little bag with little toys, colors and paper. It’s very common that while on holidays we go out for lunch or dinner, and for children this is very difficult to sit around for one or two hours in a restaurant so the bag comes with us for them to play with. Plus they love painting! Make sure you take little things that are not too noisy or annoying for other people but will keep the busy. We usually take cars or little plastic animals, they love them and they play jungle with them.
These are my must have items for any trip or holidays that we go on. What are yours? Can you give us any other tips?
