Córdoba: Andalusian Family City Break

The south of Spain is very well known because of flamenco dancing and singing, bull fighting and good food but what makes it really special is the influence from the eight centuries when Muslims ruled the lands, that mixes the old and the new in the cities and that is still very present in many ways, historically and culturally and Córdoba is one of the perfect example of this.

We are going to give you a day tour of this fantastic city, and we will give you some ideas of how to make the most of your time there with your family and of course, how to make it fun for your children

8 Tips for Flying with Children

When you think about travelling with kids sometimes you can feel a bit overwhelmed. Moreover, if you think about taking a plane! We've flown with children many times, even when they were babies, so don't worry, we're going to give you some tips to make your flight with children more comfortable, or at least less stressful.

Tips for Flying with Children:

1 – It’s commonly known that children under 2 fly for free on your legs. But this is not exactly like this, they pay taxes, that sometimes is the same amount as a complete seat. Before buying a ticket, check the baby price and a normal seat, maybe paying a little more or even the same, will help you having a more comfortable flight.

Montserrat: Trekking or Religious Culture Near Barcelona

If you are coming over to Barcelona for your holidays and you have time to spare, or simply you want to get away from the city for a day, here is my recommendation, visit the Mountain of Montserrat!

I have a very special connection with this place. Not only because it represents where my name comes from, but also because for me it is one of the number one places to visit because of the combination of its historical importance (the monastery at the top is just spectacular), the amazing views, and the fact that children have lots of fun and as a family you get to do some exercise if you like a bit of trekking.

You can easily get to Montserrat by train from Barcelona heading in the Manresa direction, and then there is a special mountain train that takes you up to the top!

Here are my 3 recommendations when visiting Montserrat to get the most of your visit:

Tossa de Mar: Medieval Beach Destination with Children

When you think about Spain I’m sure you can imagine beautiful beaches and the sun shining everywhere. Although it is not always like that, one of the areas we like the most referring to stunning beaches is the Costa Brava in the North-East of Spain.

Tossa de Mar belongs to the Costa Brava and it’s a beautiful town surrounded by castle walls right by the sea. It’s about 90 km  from Barcelona, around one hour and 15 minutes drive, and you can get there by car or bus. Tossa is a great place to discover with kids as there are a lot of activities you can enjoy with them.

If you like medieval places, you’ll love Tossa de Mar. Its historical center is called Vila Vella (Old Town) and has the perfect atmosphere to walk through and feel like a night or princess in the old days. Moreover, it is full of handmade shops and good restaurants to taste the real Spanish cuisine.
